Who We Are


 Christina Brooks is a forensic anthropologist serving the Charlotte, North Carolina metro area (including both North and South Carolina). She provides forensic consultation to medical examiner's offices, coroner's offices, and local law enforcement agencies as needed. She received her undergraduate degree from Howard University in biological anthropology with a minor in Chemistry and her graduate degree from the University of Tennessee (home of the legendary "Body Farm" and Dr Bill Bass) in forensic anthropology.  At the University of Tennessee, Christina focused her studies on Trauma Pattern Analysis in skeletal remains. In addition to being the director of Forensics 101, Christina is an adjunct lecturer and UNC Charlotte as well as at Central Piedmont Community College and at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. 

Rebecca Farlow is a forensic anthropologist with a Master’s degree from the University of Tennessee, one of the preeminent programs in the country.  UT is home to Dr. Bill Bass’ legendary “Body Farm,” the world’s only facility for the study of human decomposition.  Rebecca spent over a year working at the Body Farm, where she gained detailed knowledge of the day-to-day processes of the breakdown of the human body.  In addition, she studied DNA degradation in relation to postmortem interval for her Master’s thesis.  Rebecca has a B.S. in biological sciences and minors in genetics and anthropology from North Carolina State University.  She loves studying the skeleton and sharing that knowledge with others.  

   Thomas Grogan is a certified forensic document examiner and president of Forensic Document Laboratory, Inc. Mr. Grogan has worked in handwriting since 1997 and has served an apprenticeship under renowned handwriting expert Don Lehew (who has appeared numerous times on the Nancy Grace Show on CNN Headline News). Thomas deals with cases involving questioned and disputed documents, medical and insurance fraud, anonymous/threatening letters, handwriting and typewriter identification, ink analysis and latent fingerprint detection. He teaches seminars on Identity Theft and it's relation to signatures. Mr. Grogan also works in close association with Dan Starks from NBC6's "Don't Be a Victim" and "Partners Against Crime" segments. James Farlow is a recent graduate of N.C. State University with a B.A. in Anthropology, a B.S. in Economics, and a minor in Mechanical Engineering.  At N.C. State, James concentrated in forensic anthropology and is interested in ballistics and trauma.  At the DC Metro location of Forensics 101 he serves as an instructor as well and the business manager.  “Science is amazing,” he says, “and the key to unlocking any child’s interest is to give them an area that is challenging and fun.  That’s what Forensics 101 is for me.­”

Angela Amann  serves as the office/supply manager for Forensics 101, Inc.  She is a recent graduate from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Biology and is currently seeking a Masters Degree.Angela worked for Citizen Schools last semester as a hands-on teacher for Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Charlotte, NC.  Angela was also a Teacher's Assistant for two semesters at Penn State University, where she taught Anatomy Lab to pre-med students. "Everyday I learn something new and I love it!" say Angela.

Quentella Williams is a Reference Laboratory Clerk with Laboratory Corporation of America in Charlotte, NC.  She is a graduate of Voorhees College with a B.S. in Biology.  Since obtaining her undergraduate degree, Quentella has gained valuable experience teaching at Miracle Academy Preparatory School in Russellville, S.C. and C.E. Murray High School in Greeleyville, S.C.  After attaining her CNA Certification, Quentella worked as a Clinical Technician in Sumter, S.C for Tuomey Healthcare System.  Ms. Williams plans to pursue her Master’s in Microbiology.

Roja Azariah has been fascinated with Crime Investigation for a long time.  So much so that she obtained her Master’s degree in Forensic Science in India. She has plans to continue her education and one day enter into the career in Forensic Science that she has always wanted.  She has worked as a teacher in three different countries, with children and adults, in different communities. At the present she is employed as a science teacher at a local middle school. She is very excited to be a part of FORENSICS 101! "Forensics 101 gives me the ability to provide hands-on activities and quality information to kids and adults alike. As an Instructor, I consider each class as a valuable opportunity to create a lasting impression in the hearts of those present." says Roja.  She is looking forward to an exciting time ahead with FORENSICS 101.

Vanessa Rice  has  a BS in Criminal Justice from Pace University in NY.  She is the current owner of PC Clubhouse LLC, an Imagine Tomorrow Computer Classes for Kids Learning Center, located in Baxter Village Town Center in Fort Mill, SC.  She has recently joined Forensics 101 to manage our new South Carolina location.  She has always been fascinated with Forensic Science and saw Forensics 101 as a great opportunity to bring another enrichment program to her community.  "I love teaching children of all ages, so to be able to share my knowledge of computers and forensics is very exciting and rewarding!" says Vanessa.

Jacqueline Bithorn graduated with an AS in Criminal Justice in South Florida.  She has worked quite extensively with youth and young adults through church related counseling programs and ministries.  She finds that the world of forensics is quite fascinating, and is extremely excited that she has been chosen to be part of such a dynamic team.  "I look forward to working with the community and sharing what Forensics 101 is all about." says Jacqueline.
